Windswept Love No.8 - Original Oil Painting

£1,895.00 Sale Save

The story of this painting is deeply personal to me - unexpectedly bringing together my two homes in one piece: Cornwall and Exmoor.

What began as a Cornish seascape oil painting under a spectacular sky transformed before my eyes. From the thick, expressive oil paint, an unplanned river appeared, catching the last of the evening light.

I recognised it instantly as a peaceful river like those meandering through the rolling Exmoor hills where I’m based now. With each stroke of the palette knife, I realised this landscape painting was showing me that our hearts can be spread across many places, and yet converge to create something new.

Part of my Windswept Love Collection, this painting reminds us that home isn’t always one place - sometimes it’s the beautiful collision of places we love and that have shaped us.

Meet Rachel

I’m Rachel Painter (yes, really my surname!), a British contemporary landscape artist living between the wild Cornish coast and the wide skies of Exmoor. I create original landscape oil paintings that capture the beauty of land and sea in a way that feels both timeless and alive.

Each painting is an invitation to memory, stillness, and hope - from sweeping seascapes and glowing sunsets to quiet woodland paths. Collectors choose my work for its light-filled, contemporary yet soulful style, opening a window to somewhere you love in your home.

My work is represented in art galleries and in homes across the UK and internationally.
