Commission A Painting
A Timeless Way To Tell Your Story

Commissioning a painting isn’t just about capturing a place - it's about preserving the memories, emotions and moments that make it meaningful. It might be the place where you got engaged, the view tied to a wedding day, or the place you return to again and again.

A commissioned painting allows you to hold onto that feeling for years to come - whether it’s for your home, a meaningful gift, or your brand. I’d love to bring your idea to life!

Every commission begins with a story.
Here are a few of the places, memories and moments I've had the privilege to paint.

"I'd never commissioned a painting before, but Rachel made the whole process effortless. I felt involved throughout, and every day we're reminded of that perfect day. I couldn't be more grateful."

— April, Brighton

"Rachel perfectly captured a moment of blissful happiness. Whenever I look at the painting I feel instant calm, warmth and contentment. It's the last thing I see before I go to sleep and the first thing I see when I wake."

— Rhian, Wales

"The whole process was really easy and the painting is perfect. It receives universal appreciation from everyone who sees it. Danielle's painting now hangs in pride of place in our lounge where we can enjoy one of our favourite sunset views every day. I suspect our first 'Painter' won't be our last!"

— Phil, Devon

"Every time I look at the painting it takes me back to our engagement on Corfu. Rachel was amazing throughout the whole process—from the first ideas to the final painting—and I'd recommend her without hesitation."

— Natasha, Cheshire

For me, it’s never just about painting a view - it’s about capturing how a place feels, through mood & memory shaped by light & colour.

Whether you imagine something more true to life or more expressive and atmospheric, every commission is a collaboration, created with you.

Step 1 : Share Your Vision

Let's chat! Over email or phone we'll talk about:

✓ The place, feeling, or moment you’d love to capture

✓ Size and shape (horizontal, vertical, square)

✓ Photos, or we can discuss travel to a location for me to draw direct inspiration

✓ The colours you love - or wish to avoid

✓ Or past paintings you connect with that you’d like for your custom art commissions

If you don’t have everything figured out yet, that’s okay! I’m here to guide you through the process.

Step 2 : Let’s Get On The Same Page

Once we’ve finalised the details, I’ll send a simple agreement outlining it all including, timeline and cost.

A non-refundable deposit secures your spot in my commission queue, and soon I’ll get started on bringing your custom commission artwork to life!

Throughout I don’t wish to leave you in the dark so on the whole a couple emails are usually enough to update you on it’s progress.

Once the commissioned painting is complete, I’ll send you a final preview for approval before carefully preparing it for delivery (or framing, if you choose).

Your Art Commission Questions Answered

To begin your bespoke artwork, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit, payable via invoice. This secures your place in my commission queue and covers the initial design and painting process.

The remaining 50% is due once your commission is complete, just before delivery.

I work closely with you throughout the commission process so you feel confident as your painting takes shape.

Once the artwork is complete, I’ll send final images for your approval. At that stage, minor adjustments may be possible. Once approved and fully paid for, the commission is considered final and non-refundable.

So far, I haven’t had an unhappy collector! But if, for any reason, you decide not to go ahead once the artwork is complete, you’re under no obligation to pay the final balance. (Please note that the 50% deposit is non-refundable.)

The cost of a commissioned painting is similar to that of my original paintings. To get an idea of your investment, feel free to browse my Originals Paintings and explore my collection.

While you’re there, why not choose a favourite piece to inspire your own painting?

In Step 1 of the process, I’ll ask you to share which of my works resonate with you most as a starting point for your unique commission.

Every project is tailored to your vision, and I’ll be happy to discuss specifics during our initial chat!

Once your project is booked into my commission queue, most pieces take around 6–8 weeks to complete, depending on size and complexity. Please note that this timeline begins once your turn in the queue arrives, as I typically work on commissions in the order they are booked.

If you have a specific deadline in mind, it’s best to book early to secure your spot and allow ample time for the process.

Yes! Many of my commissioned paintings start with your treasured photos. I can work from your images (even taking inspiration from a few different ones) to create a unique artwork that captures not just the scene, but the emotion and memory behind it.

Just fill out the inquiry form below, and I’ll be in touch to discuss your ideas as soon as possible!

I, of course, want you to be happy with your artwork, so I include 2 rounds of minor alterations within the proposed quote. This way works to both our advantages in that your commission will be finished in a timely manner and within your budget.

Yes - shipping is charged separately for commissions. Because I don’t add an extra fee for custom work, this small delivery charge helps cover the added admin and personal service involved in creating a bespoke piece just for you.

I’ll confirm the shipping cost in your invoice based on your location and artwork size.
