In one swift moment, the sky ignites into a blaze of fiery colour as the sun begins its descent - a moment of awe, power, and stillness along the Helford River in Cornwall.
Confidence was born from that dramatic sunset. At a time when confidence felt elusive to me, creating this painting became a deliberate walk in the opposite direction. It's bold, big, and unapologetically alive.
Walking along the river beneath that sky, I was reminded of a force greater than myself, a sense of empowerment and humility all at once. As an original oil painting, Confidence invites you to step into the wonder of that sky ablaze with colour, to feel its warmth, energy, and the encouragement it carries.

I’m Rachel Painter (yes, really my surname!), a British contemporary landscape artist living between the wild Cornish coast and the wide skies of Exmoor. I create original landscape oil paintings that capture the beauty of land and sea in a way that feels both timeless and alive.
