“What an incredible class. I had never used oil paints before! This was a unique opportunity to ‘play’ with a new medium in a safe, friendly & inspiring environment. I’m a little afraid of colour, but I left feeling enthused & excited. Due to the small class size Rachel was able to come to us individually giving us suggestions & feedback. This made a huge difference to my confidence & I think gave us all interesting points to think about & develop in our work.”

“I am in the early days of my painting journey and my sister was painting as an adult for the very first time! Rachel’s class was incredible - from the beautifully organized individual painting stations to her thorough and patient instruction. I learned so much and will definitely take another class - whether in person or online! We have just returned to Canada- our definite highlight was the oil painting class!”

“The setting at Enys, the peferct weather and your helpful tuition made it a really lovely day for me, and it was nice to meet other people who enjoy painting too. But mostly it was your enthusiasm and knowledge that I found the most helpful. I have only ever dabbled with watercolours as a hobby so trying oil paints appealed to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with you, and thanks again.”

Before settling down to paint we will gather in Enys House at 5pm ready to begin. We’ll begin with a demonstration in the house and then we’ll be painting plein air (outside) in front of the beautiful bluebells working on easels.
There will be some shallow cardboard carriers available for you to take your paintings home– I know how tricky it can be to transport wet paintings!
