Bluebell Festival Exhibition & Oil Paint Pop Ups

First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined me at Enys Gardens’ Bluebell Festival for my exhibition and Pop-Up Oil Painting Classes. It was such a pleasure to meet so many of you, connect over art, and enjoy the beauty of Spring time surrounded by those beautiful bluebells.

The oil painting pop-ups were a real highlight! Watching people experiment with oils—many for the first time—was so inspiring. One attendee, Michaela, shared:

In The Studio

Lately, my studio has been a place of exploration and evolution. While I’m thrilled about a commercial project in the works (more on that soon!), much of my focus has been on diving deeper into texture. I’ve been experimenting with surfaces that invite you not just to see the light but to feel it.

These new pieces reveal their character in layers—dramatic skies and lively foregrounds that captivate from a distance but up close become a celebration of flicks and flecks of paint. They feel like two paintings in one! This slower, more intentional process, waiting for textures to dry and layers to settle, has taught me to embrace the so-called “messy stage” with confidence, trusting in where it will lead.

A recent shoulder injury also shifted my approach—I’ve found myself rediscovering painting from the floor! This fresh perspective has brought new energy into my work as I explore the dance between palette knife and brush. Each tool has its own voice, and I’m enjoying the challenge of finding harmony between bold slabs of oil paint and fluid, gestural strokes.

Some of my new work revisits familiar scenes, like the clifftops of Porthtowan, pushing their vibrant energy into new scales and directions. It’s been a rewarding journey so far—one of breaking through challenges and celebrating beauty in the midst of setbacks.

The Spring Show

Exhibiting In Scotland

This vibrant moorland sunset is one of five colourful, light-filled paintings I’m thrilled to have featured in the Spring Show at Fotheringham Gallery. The exhibition showcases an incredible variety of artists and creativity selected by gallery owner Claire. I’m also excited to share that one of my pieces has already found its new home early in the show!

If you can’t make it to the gallery in person, you can explore the exhibition online here:
